Jennings to lead JUFC State League coaching staff in 2019

Joondalup United is delighted to confirm that Nick Jennings will continue in his role as first team coach for the 2019 Football West State League season.

Joondalup United is delighted to confirm that Nick Jennings will continue in his role as first team coach for the 2019 Football West State League season.

Having overseen the club’s rise to the National Premier League (NPL), Jennings will again spearhead the coaching group as JUFC look to rebuild in the State League following relegation from the top flight.

Jennings will again be assisted by the experienced Steve Flint and Rudy Proctor, and plans are being finalised for the upcoming preseason schedule.

“Over the last few weeks since the NPL season ended I spent a long time thinking hard over the direction of my coaching career,” said Jennings.

“I fielded a couple of offers to jump on the coaching merry-go-round but decided that the challenge of rebuilding the club which I love was the best move for me.

“I’m looking to rebuild the playing group from scratch and with the restructuring that’s gone off the field I’ll be aiming for us to hit the ground running and be challenging at the top end of what will be an ultra competitive State League Division One.”

The State League reserves will include Blaine Merredew and Adam Buckley in its coaching group, with a further appointment still to be confirmed.

The JUFC 18s will be coached by Troy Reid who is also the club’s new Technical Director, while Miguel de la Fuente will serve as his assistant.

More details regarding trials and preseason training will be made available in the near future.
