Six players from Joondalup United’s National Premier League (NPL) Development 12s and 11s have been selected for the School Sport WA State Select Squad 2018.

Six players from Joondalup United’s National Premier League (NPL) Development 12s and 11s have been selected for the School Sport WA State Select Squad 2018.

Oliver Vrebac, Taj Filipe, Robert Cook, Finlay Clarke and Isabella Rooney from the 12s and Iona Mitchell from the 11s will travel to New South Wales in September for a week where they play against the best kids from all the other States in a competition.

This is the highest representation from any club in the competition so far, something which JUFC NPL Junior Technical Director Darren Brogan is very proud of.

“As a club we are so proud of the players that have made the squad as it’s a huge reward for all their efforts at training and matches that have got them this far to be part of such an event,” he said.

“From a coach’s perspective, it’s the best reward you can get when your players are successful through hard work, dedication and sheer determination to achieve such amazing things in the sport.”

The six JUFC players made it through six trials during a selection process that included around 60 players.

When they travel over east, they will play two matches per day at the Valentine Sports Park in Glenwood which will provide them with valuable experience.

Congratulations to all involved.
