Joondalup United is delighted to learn that exciting young talent Khoa Ngo has been selected to travel to Scotland for a week-long Academy experience with Celtic FC.

Ngo recently impressed at the Celtic Elite Player Progamme which JUFC facilitated as HBF Arena in Joondalup as part of our international partnership.

“Having one of our own players, Khoa Ngo, selected from the Elite Player Programme WA to train at Celtics Academy shows just how far we have come in the development of our Juniors at JUFC,” said Darren Brogan, JUFC’s NPL Junior Technical Director.

“Considering the wealth of talent on show from Perth Glory, Sorrento, Perth Soccer Club, Bayswater City and ECU Joondalup, to name but a few, being chosen as one of the 60 from all the top players in the state is a massive reward for player and club for all the hard work that’s been put in so far.

“I’m sure Khoa will make a huge impression at Celtic’s Academy and hopefully Joondalup United Football Club will be sending more players Celtic’s way to be involved in these life changing opportunities in football.”

Ngo has been an integral part of our National Premier League (NPL) 13s this year and he expressed his delight at being selected to travel to Europe.

“I am so blessed to be getting in the Celtic elite camp as I cannot wait until I learn new skills and put it them the pitch,” said Khoa.

“At first I was scared because I had to play against the under 16s but I had to get on with it and play, and since then I was not scared of playing against older kids.”

Ngo was keen to stress the importance of the role that his JUFC coach, Greg Hart, has played in his development recently.

“My coach Greg has been such an influence on my life, he always motivates me and encourages me to be the best that I can,” said Ngo.

“He sees potential in me and always believes in me even when I don’t even believe in myself. It feels like I’ve known him all my life.

“He is the best coach I’ve ever had, and I really won’t be able to find a better coach. All his teaching has made me step up my game and has improved me a lot.

“Thank you, Greg, for being the best coach towards me.”

Ngo’s parents are equally ecstatic with their son’s progress, and said they are thankful for the once in a lifetime opportunity to improve his skills at one of the world’s best supported clubs.

Everyone at JUFC wishes Khoa Ngo all the best for the rest of the season, and we are proud to have such a talent wearing the club colours every week.
