JUFC welcomes exciting attacker Shirzadi after successful trial

With less than a week to go until the start of the National Premier League (NPL) season, JUFC has bolstered its attack with the signing of Parviz Shirzadi.

The 22-year-old has previous NPL experience with Balcatta FC and spent last season playing Amateur football with Fraser Park.

“Following a successful trial period it’s great to welcome Pav to Joondalup United for the forthcoming season,” said coach Nick Jennings.

“He has impressive technical ability and combines his individuality with an impressive work rate.

“I have always believed in giving players opportunities and having spent last season playing Sunday football, Pav is keen to make an impact at NPL level after a brief experience at Balcatta a couple of seasons ago.”

Fraser Park were convincing winners of the Amateur Division Four title in 2017, and Jennings will be hoping that his latest signing from the Amateur ranks can have a similar impact to that of Richard Howles who was the club’s top scorer in 2017 having been picked up from Carramar FC.

“I signed for JUFC because I wanted to challenge myself in the NPL competition again, as well as playing with different types of players,” said Shirzadi.

“I really like it at JUFC because there are a lot of good players in the team, the coaches and the staff are awesome and love facing new challenges.

“In terms of expectations both individually and for the club, obviously I want to help the team win games and score as many goals as I can, and just work hard to try to improve myself day by day.”

Shirzadi will wear the 22 number shirt this season and will be part of the squad for the opening game of the year against Armadale SC at Alfred Skeet Oval on Saturday night.
