Junior NPL

Joondalup United continues to compete and thrive in the Junior National Premier League (NPL).

The Juniors have been relishing and enjoying some great contests and games so far against all the top sides with all the coaching staff accredited with a Football Federation Australia (FFA) C license to deliver modern coaching methods allowing the juniors to compete against top-level teams.

The Coaching Philosophy is based on a proactive possession-based style with all the Juniors training exclusively with the ball at all times to maximise the training time they have available to them to improve control and technique which is vital in the modern game.

The Junior Coaches are focused on long-term development whilst preparing the players to be problem solvers with a holistic approach to deal with and prevent problems in the future.

This will allow the players to develop all their skills during the skill acquisition phase of football 9 to 13 years and the Game Training Phase 13 to 17 years thus preparing them for the performance phase of football where the game is now all about winning.

Our goal is to get as many of the Juniors playing for the first team because if they are good enough, they are old enough.

In the next few years, we will be seeing some very talented kids coming through the club from the NPL Development side as well.

The 8s to 11s are very strong and display some amazing football on match day so the future of our pathway from NPL Development to NPL Juniors and then onto seniors is very bright indeed.

This will keep the club in a strong position within the football community for the future years ahead.
