Joondalup United played its inaugural season in the National Premier League (NPL) in 2017.
Having claimed the State League title in 2016, JUFC were promoted to the highest level in Western Australia for the first time.
Coach Nick Jennings assembled a strong squad and a crowd of around 1000 people attended the opening game of the campaign against ECU Joondalup at Percy Doyle Reserve.
There were plenty of high points throughout the season, including wins over heavy hitters Sorrento FC and Perth Soccer Club, as JUFC finished a credible 10th out of 14 teams.
The 2018 campaign proved to be an even bigger challenge with a number of top players having left for other clubs but JUFC continued to battle against the best on a weekly basis.
The squad have regrouped in the State League and given first team opportunities to a number of players, while the reserves claimed the league title in 2020 under coach Blaine Merredew.
2021 will see JUFC compete in State League Division 1 and with Nick Jennings in charge it promises to be another great season.
