Joondalup United has begun preparations for its return to the Belt up. Amateur Premier Division by confirming the 2019 coaching team.

Having guided JUFC from Division Three to the top flight in the space of six years, Ben Williams will again be the first team coach.

Williams is a FFA/AFC C Licence qualified coach and will look to complete the B Licence course in 2019.

“Finally, we are back among the big clubs in Sunday Amateur football,” says Williams.

“We are keen to add more quality to our existing squad to make the transition from Division One to the Premier Division as smooth as possible.

“JUFC has a brilliant club culture and have been very successful on the pitch over the past few years so we hope to mix it with the top sides and have a strong first season back at that level.”

Williams will be again be assisted on match day by Jono Doherty who has been a huge asset to the Amateur set up over the past year.

There is a change in the reserve set up with Neil Sherwin taking over from Phil Rogers who guided the team to three league titles in a row.

Sherwin will combine coaching with playing having been the reserve team captain for the past five seasons, and he is also a C Licence holder.

Preseason for the Premier Division squad begins next week (Tuesday, 6.15pm) with a session at Mullaloo Beach, the first of four get togethers before Christmas.

With an Amateur Night Series to prepare for, full training will commence at Beldon Park on 3 January 2019.
