JUFC appoints Ben Fairbairn as Technical Director

Joondalup United Football Club is thrilled to announce the appointment of Ben Fairbairn as our Technical Director for the upcoming season. A seasoned and highly qualified C Licensed Coach, Ben brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record to his new role.

Fairbairn’s coaching journey started in 2017 as the Junior Technical Director at Olympic Kingsway, Ben has steadily climbed the coaching ranks within our club. In 2021, he served as the Reserves Assistant Coach, demonstrating his dedication to player development. The following year, in 2022, Ben took on the role of JUFC State Team assistant coach. In 2023, he assumed the position of Reserves Coach and led the team to a silver place finish.

Fairbairn’s connection with Joondalup United goes beyond coaching, as he had donned the JUFC shirt for the State side and was even honored with the prestigious JUFC Clubman title recently.

Expressing his excitement about the upcoming season, Fairbairn shared his vision for the junior teams which his work as Technical Director will be focused on: “Really looking forward to working with all of our junior teams next season. I think there is a lot of talented players in our junior set up, and hopefully, I can help our coaches identify those players early on and push them to become even better next season. Joondalup United has always been a great club for junior progression through to our state league teams, and I’m here to make sure it continues to be a club that gives young players opportunities to be the best players they can be,” he said.

“Ben has been with the club for many years now and we are delighted to appoint him as Technical Director. He understands the club’s future goals and objectives and is keen to do his part in ensuring it’s success,” said club President Ghaz Ramli.

Fairbairn will start his role immediately as the club prepares for the final planning touches ahead of pre-season. He also is JUFC State Reserve Head Coach
