Joondalup United youngsters Alfie Knight and Louis Sollitt have been selected for the School Sport WA State 12s select squad for 2019.

Joondalup United youngsters Alfie Knight and Louis Sollitt have been selected for the School Sport WA State 12s select squad for 2019.

Both players are key members of JUFC’s National Premier League (NPL) 13s set up and made it through six trials during a selection process that included around 80 players.

They will  travel to the ACT from Saturday, August 24 to Saturday, August 30 where they play against the best kids from all of the other states in a competition.

This is a great representation from JUFC, something which NPL Junior Technical Director Darren Brogan takes great pride in.

“As a club we are so proud of the players that have made the squad as it’s a huge reward for all their efforts at training and matches that have got them this far to be part of such an event,” said Brogan.

“From a coach’s perspective, it’s the best reward you can get when your players are successful through hard work, dedication and sheer determination to achieve such amazing things in the sport.”

The week-long trip over east will see Knight and Sollitt play two games per and gain valuable experience against some of the best players in the country for their age group.

“The two boys are playing up a year in the NPL 13s which provides them with extremely tough games to constantly improve and develop,” said Brogan.

“They have been in outstanding form helping their team into the top six of Division One in the NPL 13s league and quarter finals of the 13s Cup.

“Some of the goals the boys have scored are of the highest quality, showing great decision making for such young players.”

Congratulations to both Alfie and Louis, and best of luck for the trip next month.
