JOONDALUP UNITED FOOTBALL CLUB’s Womens and Masters team are all set and ready to go for the 2022 season.
Popular Masters player Ray Clarke has been re-appointed as the Women’s head coach with team manager Loretta Whitehead.
“We are looking forward to another year of exciting football and have already been working behind the scenes for the upcoming season,” said Whitehead.
Skipper Donna Harris and crew are all are set for action in the new year. “It’s going to be another fun and exciting season for sure!,” said Harris
With Michael ‘Budge’ Burgess still at helm as Masters and Women’s coordinator, all coaching appointments and committee line-up has been named for the challenge in the new year.
Heading the Masters 35s side is long time JUFC player Gary ‘Gaz’ Andrews with the assistance of senior players.
The mens 45s A side will see the return of Danny O’Shea and assistant Mark Meier as the squad’s coaching duo. Meanwhile, the 45s B side will have guitar playing maestro Brian Ferguson along with Barry Price.
“We have grown from strength to strength and having coaches that know each player is each in this competition,” said Burgess, easily the longest serving JUFC player himself.
“The team balances a high level of football plus great banter off the field which has been the culture throughout our time here,” he added.
Among JUFC members making up the committee include Matthew Bourne, Alan Croft, Stuart Marshall, Clarke, Price and Whitehead.
The Womens are set to head down to Bunbury for a pre-season tournament while the Masters are looking to build their 2022 season momentum in the upcoming Trandos Cup.
