Tony heads our next generation

JOONDALUP UNITED FOOTBALL CLUB takes junior grassroots development as serious business. Football is a positive tool and platform to build formative years assisting in child’s coordination and development. It also builds character as they learn about teamwork and self confidence while playing the game in a fun and safe environment.
Under the helm of Tony Taylor, our Junior Technical Director (age 6-12s), JUFC is confident the club will be able to create players of the future while ensuring a positive environment.
Taylor, who is the club’s State player and former captain, is passionate about junior development.
“The beginning stages of children’s development is to keep them engaged and fall in love with the sport. All children play or should take part in something because they enjoy it! Their development is a process that will happen with the correct guidance and nurturing from their coaches. This is why Ive accepted the Junior TD role so I can pass on my footballing knowledge as experience to help better each player to improve as a player and assist the coaches. I aim to ensure that the development of the players will be closely monitored and players will progress as part of this process” said Taylor, a household name within JUFC members.
“We have a great line of junior coaches who are dedicated and we appreciate their work and commitment towards the club and the junior development.
Taylor has also been appointed as the Under-12s Development squad Head Coach for the 2022 season.
“I’m excited and privileged to be taking the U12’s development side for the upcoming season. I will ensure to do my best whilst having the children’s best interest at heart.” added Taylor, a product of the Burnley Football Club and Blackburn Rovers youth academy.
After a successful first day of junior trials (last Saturday), he welcomes more junior players for the second trials this Sunday (Oct 31).
“We have football for all ages and levels and best to get your kids down for the trials and we will be able to assist them to they right age category and level,” said Tony, who also runs EA Football Development, a private coaching organisation for all age groups.
